LAKESIDE HASH HOUSE HARRIERS HASH TRASH
Run 953 23 October 2002
Venue: Mandalay Restaurant, Richmond
Hare: Baabaara
By the old Richmond Town Hall, lookin’ eastward up to Kew, There’s a trail Baabaaras settin’, with a piece of chalk or two; For the rain clouds are a gatherin, and the weather men they say: “Dont go out, you silly hashers; itll be pissing down today!” It was pissing down that day, And many hashers went astray: Can’t you ‘ear their Are yous? echoing from the Yarra to Mandalay? In the restaurant Mandalay, Where the Burmese are from Bombay, An’ the curry came out like thunder outer China the next day! GG, Tangles and Baabaara on the trail were not seen, They must have been drawn elsewhere by a warmer drier scene, While the pack was wanderin through old Richmond and cursing the hare, An’ a-wastin’ time a-lookin for chalk that wasnt there: Bloomin’ arrows done in chalk — Here and there on the sidewalk — Couldnt find a bleedin on-arrow then the rain began to drop On the road to Mandalay . . . When the pack had all been scatterd an’ the trail had been lost, And theyd been soaked to the bone and couldnt give a toss, They came back in dribs and drabs looking for warmth and food They sat down and scarfed some curry and it seemed to help the mood. It seemed to help the mood If you could get your food, And the silence ‘ung quite ‘eavy while all the hashers chewd! At the restaurant Mandalay . . . But oncet the food was in em and the GM called em round, Over the music an chitter-chat you couldnt hear a sound; Lizzie gave the run a 10 out of 10, and she must be bought I think: An despite the Kiwi collusion we still gave Baabaara his drink. Then the virgins, visitors, and returnees each had one, Valph, Shag, Lethal, and Lotsafun, An’ Queen Bee was off at last to Englands dismal shore; So we wont see him no more at the Restaurant Mandalay. A farewell and a naming all at this last weeks hash, Formerly known as Marcus is now Silent But Deadly, natch; And Shagadelic had a drink for not going to her ball, And the other patrons wouldnt ave a drink so Lethal took the fall. There was a Pommy charge from Queen Bee For garble garble garble at Point-y. And Baabaara told “Whuppet” to “take them uwuy” Were divided by a common tongue at the restaurant Mandalay There were some other charges but I wont list ’em ere, Im sure they were quite witty but I didnt hear ’em clear; So its time to bid farewell to that pommy bloke Queen Bee — And welcome the newly named hasher, former Marcus, now SBD; At the restaurant Mandalay, Where the other guests wouldnt play, And the rain outside drove the pack to hide in the restaurant Mandalay! At the restaurant Mandalay, Where the Burmese are from Bombay, An’ the curry came out like thunder outer China the next day!
