Run 1024 Report

Lakeside Hash House Harriers The drinking club with a running problem

Run 1024, 11 February 2004 Hare: Mummies Boy Venue: Ivanhoe Chinese Restaurant, 63 Upper Heidelberg Rd, Ivanhoe

Surprise, Surprise! Run No. 1024 started as a rerun of the Ivanhoe disaster.  The pack followed the old trail through the streets behind the Chinese and along Darebin Creek to the footbridge.  A new trail then headed back along the other side of the creek with some skeptics upset at the disappearing arrows.  Some short cutters in the parklands picked mulberries from a former orchard before the pack re-grouped at a hash halt.  We continued along the creek before crossing at the footbridge check, through the park and up to a well placed on back on the railway bridge.  On back and under the railway, through another park, back along the creek and up a steep narrow lane between the houses, through some more streets and down to the Yarra River with trail marked occasionally.  The trail followed paths along the river to an on back at the Obelisk in Wilson Reserve.  Arrows then started appearing on trees and it was On On through the blackberries and a short, slippery, steep climb to The Boulevard.  The trail then crossed the recreation reserves and some more streets, losing everyone at the football oval until Gum Boot found it again.  It then followed through some back lanes, under the railway and On Home. Thanks to our Religious Advisor, Klingon, for a dry run.

Score: 8 out of 10 by Gum Boot.
