It was a battle of the heavyweights in the 200 club division with Mothball giving a Caribbean punch as a knockout blow to those straggling in to the drink stop. If the drink stop didn’t win the bout, Tiger Moth’s Brazilian feast certainly did.
E&B gave a mesmerising run report where she managed to mention ‘around’ as many times as the 50 km walkers lapped in Athens – central to her theme was the meandering nature of the run/walk around railway lines, bike paths and freeways – not bad for a late arrival running the walkers trail while the walkers walked the runners trail by accident (GG in the front again!). Anyway whilst Mummie’s Boy reported that his groins ‘had seized up’, the run received a ‘very nice’ and the drink stop of absolutely lethal rum punch well worth the $20 refund! An injured Bovine made an attentive barman.
The GM welcomed several visitors – IBM’s brother-in-law Andrew who managed to keep IBM on trail (do come again!) and Evelyn. Special run down downs were awarded for Mothball’s 200th and E&B’s and Chiko’s 150th followed by Mothball and TigerMoth as hares. A plethora of charges followed due to the copious amounts of food and drink available before the circle. Who knows what really happened – the scribe had had more than one glass of rum punch and things were getting hazy. One recollection was that the GrogMaster was absent and SBD did the honours. A second was that 6.35 was renamed 7.10 – Lakeside’s 6.30ish start is getting later and later!
-LotsofFun took a down down for singling out only one of TigerMoth’s son’s for the handsome photo award. Rolf Harris was tagged Hotlips for her over-helping of the hot pimento sauce on her beans and rice. KlingOn took a charge for Chiko once being lost but the police luckily had a few leads…
Mummie’s Boy couldn’t resist charging Prince (who was still present for the circle – yes, a miracle) due no doubt to Mothball’s new hash-heater. The RA was charged for the lack of Caribbean weather to go with the drink stop (which should have been a rebound due to the very fine climatic conditions). Mothball took a drink for serving the said Caribbean rum out of a Bundy bottle and IBM got several for a). being a team player and b). not getting lost. Mothball took another drink for providing a separate map for the walkers and Andrew took a charge for running the hash in his boxers, having forgotten his running shorts.
TigerMoth was charged with exceeding the culinary brief by providing dessert, Boomer was charged with providing too many Black Russians at his 40th which naturally rebounded to GG who did have too many. BarterBitch took a drink for something I’ve forgotten – the pencil was getting blunt by this time.
Mothball’s garage provided so much ambience that the crowd was reluctant to disperse but finally GG took his lemons home. So endeth the Olympics.
