Run 1142, 29 Mar 2006 Hare: Egg & Bacon Pie Venue: Alexandra Av, BBQs near Swan Street.

Imagine to run few kilometers of the 18’th Commonwealth Games Marathon after all spectators were gone and sporting venues slowly getting back to their pre-games sleep. But does Melbourne ever sleep? Games came and gone and F1 competition is on.   We started from the BBQ area next to Swan Street Bridge, crossed the Yarra and go over the bridge in Melbourne Park to get to the MCG. We reopened the brand new bridge comforting with aboriginal music. We got into the Fed Square to face all pre-match stands of Grand Prix million dollars cars. We crossed the bridge into Alexandra Gardens before getting into a nice building for drink stop. French champagne were served. E&B managed to bring Max, a new visitor, in the drink stop which was quite handy in serving sausages to the hashers. The run scored 8 from 10.

Astro (250), pointy (522), Whippet (223), Cooch (224) and Gerbils had significant runs. Max was welcomed to the run and Tigermoth was blamed for $3000 remaining budget in Lakeside’s accounts.  E&B, Klingon and Lizard were the only runners in the night who were born in Melbourne and Screwtop was the Lakeside’s successful recruit. Father was accused of leaving his valet at home and  Klingon distributed pamphlets to the feet runners in the park.  E&B reminded Screwtop of complaining about UK and Pointy was awarded the champion of the night for bringing two lights in last week run plus supplying extra beer for thirsty D&E runners. E&B was the only runner who had the privilege to be interviewed for the games abut unfortunately her comments were too honest to be published. Finally Shah was charged for reading from his notes when he called the runners.
