Run 1193, 14 February 2007 Hare: GG Venue:Cheltenham Park BBQs, Park Rd Cheltenham

This run was a return to the location of GG‘s unfortunate affair of the  heart, in semi-natural parkland in the heart of the Eastern Suburbs. After much faffing about at the beginning of the run, and complaints  about the front runners, we eventually set off up the side of the cemetery, where GG says he always lays the trail. A few lefts and rights,  and a final run-in over one of the many golf courses in the area, and we were back at the bbq in less than GG‘s predicted 50 minutes. The hare  had a self-assembly line of delicious ham and other salad materials ready for us, which added up to a fine repast. Couch was called up to  give a verdict on the trail, and awarded it a quality mark of  ‘predictable’ and a score of 40.500 out of 53. Codpiece took him away,  but obviously not far enough, because they were both back front and centre in a few moments, she rather unfairly for not knowing how to get her photos uploaded to the webshite, and he (together with Whippet) for  being responsible for the farting* about at the beginning.

Cheescake‘s stats of the week were Tigermoth (100), Chico (200), Crabbo  (22ish) and Upper Class Tart (20ish). Returnees this week were Skiddy (on a visit from Darwin), Tangles, and Shunt, who seems to be making a  habit of returning. At Crabbo‘s suggestion visiting dignitories were then acknowledged, viz. Couch, newly appointed Big Wheel of the  Melbourne Occasional Bikehash.

HasherStuart got a free beer as some compensation for having his wallet full of money nicked from his car last week, though the very decent thief  was kind enough to leave him his credit cards and other important stuff.  GG was charged for laying something of a dead centre run, it having passed two cemeteries in it’s short life, and Crabbo and UCT got yet more  beer for last Saturday’s inaugural Bikehash.

The fact that neither Udder nor PointPost are Kiwis, didn’t stop them getting beery rewards for New Zealand’s one-day cricket victory over the  Aussies. Shunt was encouraged to get back to work again, so that the trains might start working properly again, and GG was asked “what’s the charge” after Crabbo spotted his bike chained up outside the Melbourne  Magistrates Court for most of Monday. I still think we should be told.  Finally Lethal announced that the location for next week’s run is BBQ a)  in Glenhuntly, not BBQ b), as not shown on the webshite: or something  like that. I didn’t quite follow his charge for the front runners either, but how do you determine who precisely is *not* calling at the front of  the pack from way down the line where Lethal is to be found.

* On the subject of farting, the Sargeant pointed out that last week’s  charge for Prince should have been farting in the circle, and not  fucking, which may explain why I’m writing these trail notes, and not  Shah.
