Run 1324, 03 June 2009 Hare: Lubang Venue: 18 Grove Road, Hawthorn

It was a wet and stormy night; the rain was pelting down. The run was set from 11 Grove Road and the GM was making her sound. “Right you bastards!  Get out there and run!” – came the hollering from the back of the yard. And so the run started from the back of the house and the runners were expecting to run hard.

The walkers and latecomers set off from the front, in earnest to meet up with the pack. To the east they did roam, but not far from home, came to a check which a clear direction it did lack. The runners searched in torchlight; the walkers looked on; “On On” was eventually cried. And to the junction they fled, but not us who instead headed back on lost trail – but we tried.

So an hour at least was between first and last to come in to the circle that night. Lube Oil said he’d recceed the run twice that day but never expected this plight. “The rain washed the arrows and chalk all away”, cried the hare with his story of note. And the score was the worst I’ve heard of for years, but the makan pulled him through,  when it came to the vote.

That being the end of the run, Lubang Oz’s bagus makan dari Indonesia was enjoyed by all.  When LotsaFun was finished eating, we were able to welcome the returners – Holy Shit, Astro, Tiger Moth, together with the hare and the cook, Lubang Oz.

Prince described the run as “an interesting run” with the first runners coming in one and a half hours before the last.  He recalled one good thing – one nice view of the city – and that they ran all points of the compass in Kew.  However it was unanimously considered to be a long and boring run through streets of Hawthorn and Kew and a hard slog.  Prince gave it 4 out of 515 and an extra 1 for trying.  However the three course Indonesian meal – rice bubble cookies, chicken curry, braised veggies, rice, bread and then a yummy dessert – received 510 points.  So another excellent night of hashing!

Flem took them away with the head freezing beer.

NickleB was then brought in as the stand-in Sergeant and he immediately charged Prince for teasing Chicko with his food.  E&B and Holy Shit were then charged for shortcutting which was really because there were no markings where they were running!

Charges from the floor included: ? GG from Astro for being out of character (which would be applauded). ? Klingon for being dressed in weatherproof gear but sending his best friend out there with nothing but the soles of his feet. ? Codpiece for likening a GPS to her men – it grows when you stroke it; ? Astro for not having hair like Codpiece. ? Lubang for being a good host and spilling beer on the floor and making guests feel at home.
