Run 1404, 01 Nov Hare: MHHH Venue: KG’s Shed 25 Renver Rd Clayton

Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Eve of the 150th running of the Melbourne Cup – aka Melbourne Mens AGM. The stallions strolled in looking dapper with their tight riding and running gear. The fillies appeared in all their finery and at around 7:30 we set off for the run. Upon payment of our entry fees we were given a bottle of Aged Muscat which we will enjoy at a later date.

The pack headed north cutting past the Australian Synchrotron where physicists like Big Bang are trying to create the ultimate death ray so that they can control the earth. Once these physicists take control they plan on making physics a compulsory subject for high school and everyone will have only one choice at university, yes you guessed it, physics. For recreation we have to watch and recite episodes from the TV sitcom – The Big Bang Theory and our children have to named Sheldon and Penny.

From there, we headed into Monash University for what was a discovery tour of how big this place really is. Eventually we crossed Blackburn Rd and ran down a big creekline after jumping a fence to a well deserved drinkstop. From there it was back south, past the back of the Synchrotron and back to KG’s Shed. The run lasted roughly 40 minutes over a distance of 5.5km.

Dinner was a tasty roast beef with lots of bread, potatoes and salads galore. Washed down with a beer, I thought to myself, this is the life!

The circle was had and done.

About 15-20 Lakesiders  didn’t go away for the long weekend and attended this run.
