Run 1514, 12 September 2012 Hare: It Wasn’t Me Venue: Doncaster Hotel, cnr Doncaster Rd and Victoria St, Doncaster

Into the zone where few Lakeside hashers dare to tread, zone 2, the run this week was in hilly Doncaster. At the aptly named Doncaster Hotel. We convened in the also aptly named cider bar where E & B and a few others partook of the namesake beverage. The run commenced at suitable time when all (real

hashers) were assembled, after much pointless debate about the orientation (sexual and otherwise) of on back arrows and the handing out of many book-sized pieces of chalk that went largely unused. The run was an interesting mix of suburban streets and suburban parks, a decent length and for the most park well marked, apparently there was some interesting scenery to be had if it wasn’t pitch black.

Back to the Hotel and dinner was just arriving as we arrived, very good timing and highly commended to IWM for organizing this (cast squinty evil glance at people who choose pubs that make us wait for food whose names escape me). After a dinner which nobody paid over $12 for and nobody had any complaints about (apart from Nor Me who complained that Flem ate his fush!) circle was called. We adjourned to an adjoining stage area that was astroturfed nicely and furnished with rustic cider barrel furniture.

Run report was given by SOS and run was award 10/12, hare It Wasn’t Me drank.

Sooty was awarded a drink cause everyone was pleased to see him back at hash.

Monkey Boy (a new or perhaps long returning English hasher) was given a charge for too much energy during the run.

Lots of Fun was charged for being scared of snakes during the run, apparently she doesn’t get to see any snakes often.

Nickel B for thinking Cooch was the scared one.

Cooch for letting Monkey Boy off his leash and not calling on back.

E&B for lost in translation after mishearing a civilian who said “exercise”

she though he said “hashing”.

Monkey Boy for leading the pack on a wrong trail and not past a Chinese restaurant that some members of the pack were keen to run by for some reason.

Klingon for not racing Monkey at the end of the run (weak charge).

Point Post for too much map and being the only walker.

Lots of Fun for exclaiming “we nearly got killed” after crossing a busy road.

Monkey for no hash gear which is apparently “back in England”. With a lot of things apparently.

Monkey was commended by Klingon for marking with a pack arrow not a hare arrow during the run.

Cooch was charged with no motivation on the run, apparently after biking up a couple little hills on the way to the hash.

Flem got charged for having a private party outside circle and not paying attention.

SOS was charged with hash fashion for his socks, although he thinks it was mostly jealously on the part of the charger.

E & B was charged by Sooty because, according to him, she used to cartwheel for the boys at school and show them more than was appropriate.

It Wasn’t Me for preoccupation, apparently she stopped listening after hearing how well received her run was.

and finally Monkey Boy charged all non-present hashers for missing out on an excellent run, then got charged himself for brown nosing the GM.
