We all turned up at the Clifton Hill Royal,
ready to run and walk on bike paths and soil.
T’was a familiar trail for the GM and his queen
but for others, the search for info and arrows they gleaned.
We set off round the streets lined with houses so old
and were stopped at the checks to chat in the cold.
Point Post told of his trip to LA,
and Vegas, Death Valley, and other places he stayed.
Mummies Boy was seen for the first time in a year
And even a visitor from Connecticut was here.
And Scrubber and Go-anna from Adelaide they came,
And Humper came from Brighton (of UK fame).
It was dark. It was chilly.
The trail was a bit hilly.
The walkers got it easy with a 4K walk.
But the runners’ loop made it 8 if they followed all the chalk.
But the prize of the run was the delectable comestible
about a K from the pub:
-Cock-sucking Cowboys- for all,
as well as chockie biccies for grub.
69 out of 74 were given for both the walk and the run.
And it was said the checks and on-backs were sparse, but the drink stop was fun.
Mutha Trucka and Blood Sucka – the hares for the night.
Chose a pub which could serve us our dinner on sight.
No need to order at 6.30 for 8.
They could prepare pretty quickly and deliver the plate.
So instead of the dinner and then circle at 9;
We did circle at 8 and planned dinner at 9.
But the dinner came early, during the circle in fact.
And at least one hungry Lakesider chose to part from the pack.
