Looking at my notes written on the back of a napkin, I realise how awful my handwriting is so apologies for any mistakes.
A bedraggled, forlorn Racey Tracey, and a dripping, sodden No Balls tried desperately to re-set their hash after the monsoon that engulfed Melbourne an hour before.
What was the RA doing at this time about the weather we all asked?
Racey and No Balls cunningly positioned chalk marks to avoid the rain. Trouble was the rain was more cunning. After finding one mark, and then spending 20 minutes trying to find the next Cooch ran back to get a map and the runners proceeded from there.
Meanwhile the walkers (with maps to spare, which they wouldn’t share) ambled along to the drinks stop.
Full credit for having a drinks stop in a monsoon. All enjoyed finishing off the Sambuca, though some did not enjoy trying to run back afterwards.
I had an excellent curry in Royal Melbourne Yatch Club at very reasonable price. I think the food for everyone else was good as well.
Then on to the circle.
Hugh Heffa provided a rambling verbal run report. “It was long and hard and wet…” which was a gross exaggeration, and he was asked to get back to telling us about the run. He gave it 1305/1683. Peanuts gave the walkers report and gave it 1500/1683. In my notes it mentions something about the RA thinking that it wasn’t legal to pee in a public telephone booth, but I can’t for the life of me remember how Peanuts’ run report lead on to this.
Klingon then took over as standing Sergeant.
