Our intrepid hounds ran into the night to discover many checks, on-backs, looping trails taking us back to the start after 15 minutes, getting lost in Fawkner Gardens, missing arrows, more checks, on-backs on on-backs, and yet more checks before finally finding the drink-stop graciously provided by the Western Suburbs HHH. After a short recover it was on-on back to the College Lawn Hotel for an excellent dinner, and much punishment of the hares for such a confusing and poorly marked trail !
Walk Report
The Walk commenced in the opposite direction from the Run, turning left at the first street and on to a check. The pack scattered finding On Backs followed by Checks, followed by On Backs, ad tedium. With few guiding arrows the Pack divided in two at Dandenong Road, back home, Quick Lay’s offer to go to the Drink Stop did not have any takers. The last Walkers arrived later and Coffin Box looked for a rope to string the hare from a rafter. Coffin Boxe’s Walk Score: minus 40 out of 16.
Run Report
On Out down the lane around the corner to checks and On Backs one after theother, looking for arrows and could not find them or the Indians either. Lost trail and ended up back near the pub until the hare found trail in some obscure lane. Before we knew it, we’d found Fawkner Park and even though there were very few arrows, on backs at checks and double on backs, we managed to find our way back to Prahran Market. From Malvern Road, trail led to the Drink Stop with thirst quenching nectar and lollies served with a smile by Western Suburbs Runners. Kokup’s Run Score as for the walk: minus 40 out of 14.
