Run 1021 Report

Lakeside Hash House Harriers The drinking club with a running problem

Run 1021, 21 January 2004, aka Chinese New Year’s Eve Hare: StuckOn Venue: Post Deng Cafe, 214 Little Bourke St City

Well, ladies and gentlemen, what better place for Stuckon to choose for her ‘first’ run, and what better time to choose than Chinese New Year?!

The pomp, the pagentry, the noise and excitement – and that’s just the hashers!!  The dragon, the drummers and firecrackers to welcome in the Year of the Monkey were pretty good too! And the area the run covered – “Melbourne” pretty much covered it… or visa versa.

Runners and walkers found trail (or not as the case may be) through Chinatown, the Treasury Gardens, Birrung Mar, Federation Square, Southgate, Jeff’s Shed (trail found under the accordion player – sneaky move Stuckon!), the Aquarium, the Rialto and home.

Alice in her pusher kept the pack together with her cries of “on-on” (was there something she knew we didn’t?) the pack however joined in the celebrations by calling “pow pow” (the chinese equivalent of ‘on on’)

A good confusing, long and well set run followed by lots of yummy tucker.

Due to the lateness of the evening and the parcity of down down beverage, the GM welcomed the visitors Gumboot and Clitus,  returnees Deep Throat and Poison.  Other returnees Tittilator and Andy wisely left before the business end of the evening.

Special runs were awarded to Mothball (125) and Toto (80)

And then the beer ran out……
