Run 1034 Report

Lakeside Hash House Harriers The drinking club with a running problem

Run 1034, 14 April 2004 Hare: Prince Venue: Leinster Arms Hotel, 61 Gold Street, Abbotsford

The first of two great runs from in the top end of Hoddle Street!

The run had all the hallmarks of a potential cock-up with Prince having to illustrate his hash markings prior to the start. Do hashers have previous experience with this hare?? Anyhow, the run  took off along Hotham St. and with good use of every bloody lane available, and the rabble soon found themselves across Smith St looking for the trail along Alexandra Pde. SBD was seen heading off to the Fitzroy Swimming Pool for a quick dip. It was becoming pretty obvious that Prince had obtained the leftover false trails from IBM’s run the previous week as we weaved in and out of every twist and turn of every alley!

Visitors, Hot & Delicious, Rumilla? and Russell were showing the pack what running was really about, but failed to understand that one doesn’t need to run up every check-back. Next out onto Brunswick St, around the corner into Johnson, and then a quick into Greeves, again via every laneway available. The memory starts to fade at this point; possibly the mind closing down in deference to the legs, so if you want to know what happened next, ask Clitus, who ended up with Prince’s map. A few of us came in via Bedford, across Johnson, up Budd, along Keel and north on Gold to the pub. In all a pretty good run, marred only by the plethora of check-backs that kept the FRB’s off their stroke……..’I like check-backs’ was Prince’s reply!

The run was awarded 7/10
