Run 1083, 9 March 2005 Hare: Lethal Venue: Alexandra Ave, opp. Botanic Gardens

E&B set a run as promised, lots of loops and drink stops.  The loops were so tight that we missed 3 of them but we managed to keep together as the hare kept appearing to get us back on the trail if we got lost.  The course followed along the river, up to but not around the ‘G’, then past the Tennis Centre, where there was a bit of a Canadian Invasion.  Bryan Adams was playing at the Rod Laver Area and Cirque de Soeli (some French word anyways.  You know the French Canadian Fags dressed in tights) was set up nearby.  We observed an interesting cross section of people attending both events. Then up the river to nearly Swanson St. into the Bot Gardens and back.  The drink stops were cleverly disguised as drinking fountains.

We then proceeded to drink beer, eat yummy E&B pie followed by some tasty Cheesecake who went down well. After dinner, E&G managed to arrange a water skiing display from the Moomba water skiers who made a turn directly in front of us.  Hashers are amazing aren’t they?

As there was a distinct lack of enthusiasm from the 2 committee members there, and we had already lost Mothball, who had to go home and clean his $200 shoes, so GG took over the circle as RA.  Charges were: Nick and Helen – new hashers.  Asked if they would run again..”Maybeeee” E&B – as the hare. Cunninglinguist – Returning runner Pointy – for talking on the run with Boomer “like 2 old women” Helen – for taking a mobile phone call in the circle. Gerbils – for getting lost and going to Shirley Strickland instead of Ron Borasi. Lots of Fun – never been to Moomba or Alexander Ave. after living in Melbourne for 5 years.  The “shut in” charge. E&B – for changing the venue at the last moment by moving 4 picnic tables away thereby losing half of the hashers who missed the run. Pregnant Pause and Pregnant Paws – for her live “fur muff”. Whippet – got the Grumpy charge.  (might get that every week..) There was then a reading of the notable fund collectors at LSHHH at the Red Dress Runs:  GG $120 (second highest overall)  Clitus $0.40 (some money was left in the tin from a previous event)  Stuckon $80??  Klingon $10 We will let you draw you own conclusions from that. A few other straggler charges went to: Cooch – for low profile/using his body to slow himself down after falling off his bike Lethal – for wearing a non hash hat in the circle (should be no hats in the circle anyways but Lakeside isn’t a real hash …) Quasi – rebound charge for telling Lethal he had a non hash had on in the circle…? Udder – for going to the Seychelles and getting sand in his orifices… We then sang the Hash Song which scared everyone away. Sorry but the write up doesn’t have the spelling/context mistakes usually made by the Shah.
