Run 1166, 30 August 2006 Hare: Tangles Venue: Tower Hotel 838 Heidelberg Rd Alphington
Such a brilliant run! We arrived in the smoky Tower Hotel where lost of the hotel space was closed. So we found a corner to avoid the suspicious looks of theguys betting on horses and dogs. Gradually few runners got together. But where is the hare. Are we hareless!? We waited and waited. Then we found a kind bookie lady who accepted to look after our stuff while we left the pub to find our way from the check pub.
As we were going through the run process, GG showed up and said that Tangles has left midway setting the run to go and find his old dad who disappeared. Realizing that we are hareless, we found our way in the soft green soccer field which became a practice golf court. We went back and forward and finally got into the Darebin Park which sadly was the end of the run which Tangles set. After little discussion how to get home, Mommies Boy revealed that he has a set a run in the area few years back and knows how to get home. With help of Pointy, we headed home to find the pub almost empty for ourselves and cheerful GG finishing his dinner announcing that Tangles’ dad has been found.
Everybody was happy with his dinner while Mommies Boy announced that there are only two girls in the pack, Cheesecake and Lotsa Fun. Other fact was declining number of runners. Pointy, acting hare, reminded us that the run used half of the Cooch’s bike ride in the past Sunday and passed the Chinese restaurant where Mommies Boy set his run from. Pointy gave the run 21 from 27 in Tangles absence. Blood Hound and Plunger were returnees and NickleB (200) and Klingon (399) had significant runs while Mothball chose Cheesecake as his first target who will be away for 7 weeks enjoying her long awaited long service leave. Whippet was second victim, courting up doing business during the run. Pointy, Lotsa Fun, NickleB, Cooch were involved in the bike ride week before and Mommies Boy didn’t recognize Mothball as sergeant in arms and accused him for standing in the middle of circle. GG, Plunger, Mothball and Lotsa Fun were reading sport truth, which had girl stripping in the third page. Pointy was on call and answered his mobile in the run before Mommies Boy blamed Cooch for decreasing water levels in the reservoirs. Blood Hound just woke up for his called and blessed the runners which was to religious to bear and was charged afterward. Lotsa Fun was the only rider last week who came back with a clean bike Plunger and Mommies Boy had few hot bath discussions. Finally NickleB got a low profile.
