Run 1199, 28 March 2007 Hare: Prince Venue: Gate G Jock McHale Stadium, Collingwood

Footy Season indeed started on Wednesday! It was pissing everywhere but this didn’t stop around 20 committed runners to come out and run in the rain. The run’s bonuses were extra shower you got during the run and extra pizzas we had after the circle. As rain was pouring, we took mini shelter in the Collingwood training ground at Collingwood, where Prince and three virgin runners, Yes! You haven’t heard wrong! We had Debbie, René and Geoff in pouring rain. Back to the start! Prince and few others were hiding in the cars when Fleabag and Shah arrived wet followed by Pauline, Stuart, Cooch and Pointy. GG was late as usual and accompanied with Codpiece in wet to follow the front runners.

We were lucky to have Prince with us, otherwise majority of the trail were gone due to heavy rain. Prince guided us to a tour of Collingwood Home before crossing the freeway to go through few back alleys to Yarra River and back to home. Prince was originally planned to have a BBQ but due to pouring rain, we took refuge in Yarra Hotel.  As barmaid was winging that he hasn’t got anything prepared in the kitchen, Prince brought in yummy chicken and salads. Mothball and Tigermoth came late for the run, didn’t get wet and took off early before the circle.

Cheesecake inspired by committed runners who didn’t care about the rain was excited about our three virgin runners, Debbie, René and Geoff, but Klingon, Bombers supporter off course, didn’t like all the fuss about the Collingwood and recalled Sooty’s runs where either there is no arrow to be seen or they have been washed away. He gave the run 19 from 1990.

In other hand, Codpiece and GG disagreed with Klingon as they were following the arrows that put in by NickleB during the run.  Fleabag was our only returnee and Lotsa Fun had 223 runs. Swampy and Lotsa Fun took charges because we finally got some rain and Stuart, Pauline, Fleabag were found fogging in the car.

Collingwood supporters, GG, Pauline, Stuart, Rene and Prince sang the Collingwood song to recover from their disappointing loses last year but nobody mentioned of the week performance of other Victorian clubs. Klingon blamed Cooch for his absence last week. Everybody neglected an on back and went home halfway without Cooch. Finally, Lizard got a low profile for his late arrival.
