Run 1258, 02 April 2008 Hares: Codpiece & Prince Venue: Naughton’s Pub, Royal Parade, Parkville

When at last Codpiece finally decided to shift her ‘picnic on the zoo  lawn sitting a blanket with a glass of red in one hand and Tasmanian  (of course!) brandy/port/sage pate in the other’ run to a nearby  hotel, she failed to consult Point Post. Consequently, without Pointys  blessing the heavens opened up and rain swept down washing away trail  and the two hares.  So what did Codpiece do? She went home to ‘shower  and change into something more comfortable’  instructing  her co-hare  to ‘reset the run and don’t fuck it up this time’.  We waited until 7  pm and the pack assembled on the street. We welcomed back Too Dumb Too  Die’ an new look runner Flem. TDTD was bouncing around and fairly  dying to get into his first run with us for 3 months – little did he  know there wasn’t one, not as he remembers typical hash runs from  hares who knew what they were doing! The co-hare, in Codpiece’s  absence, pointed the pack in the direction of trail and off they set. There was trail for the first kilometre,  then we had a live run for  the next 3 until dobs of flour was found much to the relief of the co- hare. Without any checks or onbacks the pack stayed together  remarkably well – running blind will do that! – and everyone was  brought home in 45 minutes, where Codpiece was waiting, freshly  showered, make-up, not a hair out of place, glass of red, relaxed,  looking a million dollars! How does she do it?!!

The Circle

TDTD said all the right things about the run and praised the hare for  producing such a well marked run in such a storm. He awarded it 2 out  of 22 (22 being the number of times Codpiece changed her mind about  the venue: its  the zoo, no lets go to the pub, no zoos better, no it  might rain –  pubs better etc). TDTD was  officially welcomed along  with Interhash returnees Upper Class Tart, Craven, Crabbo, E & B,  Mummies Boy, NickelB and Lots a Fun. Special run awards went to Addon  (151) and to keep her company Klingon 477.
