You should always be careful not to make the big calls too early but this will be one of the better runs for the year. Distance was good 6.8km, or 8km for the crazy front runners, the pack stayed together, and we were back in around 60 minutes. Alright Cooch, I talked up your run, now pay me for my services.
The run meandered beside the Yarra River along its boulevard of broken dreams. We passed the house of Peanuts but alas she was not there. E&B left a calling card inviting her to join us. We went through no less than 6 different parks and reserves offering the Lakesiders the pleasures of running on grass and a touch of shiggy.
Back at the Mountain Goat things got serious with a somewhat reflection of a uni students diet of predominantly pizzas and beers, and not necessarily in that order. Save, that in this case the beers were excellent and the pizzas were gourmet. Cooch was given 650 out of a possible 1000.
Returnees were charges of Two Bottoms, Gringa, Tricky Dicky, Cod Piece, Old Boar, Cut Loose, Metatarsole, and Slip Her A Bundy. The last two were charged for actually knowing how many runs that they had done so far with Lakeside over its rich history spanning 26 years, for Meta and Slip Her have now done 2 runs each.
XRated 2 was charged for losing her fitness. Yours truly, moi, was charged for having a heart that was working that night. Big Bang was charged for suddenly her night was looking very promising. Metatarsole was charged by Tripod for being stupid enough to believe our Sergeant. Lots of Fun was charged for her question – “Is that a back-check or what?” The Cheap Bastards Charge went to Klingon and Old Boar for ordering the paddle of beers. Cod Piece was charged for not remembering her name. Normie for his first anniversary of hashing. Slip Her A Bundy for being about to have another hasher. Metatarsole for having a new car registration plate of “HHH 007” GG for a crap attempt of a charge. Klingon was charged for taking 3 months to finally producing good weather for the run. Flem for It Wasn’t Me. Tripod gave the Newfy joke.
