Run 1436, 18 May 2011 Hare: Chrome Dome & Wopping Boy Venue: 7 Emo St, Malvern East

It was a beautiful night. The run set off with the full moon rising in the east, clearly visible above the rooftops. As the run progressed through East Malvern for most of the first half of the run, the moon was on our right. It provided the perfect navigational aid. We had been mainly travelling north. It was a clockwise run, and as we turned towards home, we ran through a sequence of beautiful moonlit parks. The ever faithful full moon guided us, being by now a little higher but on our left. We were now going south. It transpired however, that depite the magnificent and rare opportunity for navigational assistance that nature had afforded us, most of the pack had no idea where home was and proceeded to run quite pointless checks and on backs that were quite obviously in the wrong direction.

The drink stop was provided back at the on-home, the magnificent residence of Wopping Boy and Chome Dome. The drinks were in two huge bowls one of chai tea and one of gluhwein. Naturally the gluhwein went first. It provided such an extra injection of blood ethanol that, as happens sometimes when spirits are provided on a drink stop, the pack never shuts up for the whole night.

The food was a magnificent feast of cock-o-van, which was actually chicken, and soemthing else that I forget. There wer no visitors. Some returnees asn special runs. E&B presented fore special Lakeside awrd shirts for 400 runs. Cooch, Nickle Bum and Lotsafun. The pack was so noisy during the circle we all had to shout, which made more noise. Even those who were charged for talking in the circle, failed to stop talking even when they were charged. Despite all this, the stand in GM did mange to charge a number of those who posessed male brains yet failed to use them properly despite the magnificent navigational assistance that nature had provided.
