Run 1008 Report

Run 1008 Hare: Whippet Gasworks Park, Port Melbourne

For the first outdoor run of Lakeside Hash House Harrier 2003 Spring Racing Carnival our trusty RA did a magnificent job in ensuring that the tumultuous precipitation came (and went) on the day before the event.

The teams saddled up in the arena and then set off at a merry canter – according to Udder Idjit – in a rectangular manner through Port Melbourne. We headed along numerous leafy lanes and cobbled alleys until we hit the reserve, then it was a runners trail and the pack stretched out like silly putty. Fortunately the walkers didn’t even bother, and were meandering around in a smaller rectangle with the help of a map and no help from GG’s navigational skills.

In the meantime, the runners found a pair of giant phallic fertility symbols on their way to the shoreline. After the second massive wang, they hooked a left and sprinted in a straight line for home. In a generous mood, Udder awarded the hare a grand total of 1 out of 10 (favouritism!!! the pack cried!)

As there were a number of Japanese aviators around – the circle was a quick one and the hardy retired to Molly Blooms for the on-after.

Charges were awarded to:

· Klingon for weather control · Whippet as hare and chef · Astro Boy as a returnee from warmer climes. · Like a Virgin for leaving us for warmer climes. · Lai fun’s sister for the dubious honours of visiting, and being the person responsible for introducing her to the Hash. · Punch & Kockup shared 20 runs · Cooch for braving the elements and riding Around The Bay In A Day · The Boomerang for handing out lunches for same, and ending up with 1,000 spares · E&B was charged for smoking on the run And finally · a Whippet and your little dog Toto too for being amongst the hounds frolicking the park with the other Labradors and poodles.

On-on
