Run 1161, 26 July 2006 Hare: Klingon Venue: Pint on Punt Hotel, Punt Rd. Windsor

We had quality rather than quantity for Klingon‘s memorial run. A small but select group took off and ran straight into the bush wherein was contained one of the marks from the first ever Lakeside run in 1984.

After meandering through St Kilda back streets and working girls we made it to Luna Park and got lost – after 20 minutes looking for trail, Lotsa Fun exclaimed “Now I remember, Klingon gave me a map”. Dunno how many it takes to change a light bulb but it took the entire pack to read the map. Wherupon we pranced up Carlisle St to corner of Barkly ST, where Klingon had chalked “NO WAR” on the footpath, across to Alma Rd and through some more backstreets until we lost trail again whereupon the GM ordered the pack back to Pint on Punt where the beer and food was waiting.

We welcomed new runner Chinese Lotus from Beijing. Goliath had a few words about the run and the dearth of chalked marks – could have done with less on the NO WAR and more on the trail. Lotsa thought it was a good run and gave it 35 out of 50 – well she would, wouldn’t she, since she had the only map. Klingon compared himslf to Oscar Wilde who blamed his audience, or in our case, the victims.

Charges:

Chicko in absentia for Bow Lingual device which will translate his barks and enable him to lay his own hash charges. Klingon for laying a history run. Cheesecake for bringing a bucket of lemons for the fish and chips. Lotsa Fun for not letting on about the map. Cooch for being a front runner and not finding the checks. Cheesecake for giving Whippet investment advice and tax dodging strategies. Pointy for taking wrong turns. Klingon for borrowing dinner money from Whippet (not one of the tax dodging investment strategies recommended by Cheesecake)

There were other charges, but the GM is like Gerald Ford, she can’t be GM and scribe at the same time.

Pint on Punt is a good venue with plentiful food at cheap price, and their own brand beer at $5 jug – mainly because it’s run by an ex-hasher who knows we like our food.
