Run 1224, 12 September 2007 Hare: Flem Boy Venue: Einstein’s bar and restaurant, Deakin uni campus,

Eleven intrepid Hashers gathered at Eintein’s bar at Deakin University. It was a small but elite group but the small size of the pack meant that the sumptuous barbeque provided by Flem didn’t have to be shared so many ways and we all managed to have a true Ausie Feast.

This being Mummies Boy’s ancestral home and Dreaming territory, he regaled us with boyhood tales and reminiscences of growing up in the vicinity when it was a blackberry infested wilderness – not once but many times. And, in case anyone missed his story, he repeated it yet again at the circle. There will be a test next week!

The pack set off through the Deakin campus and under Burwood Highway, through the suburban streets, through parks and (almost) across raging  torrents arriving back at Einstein’s well ahead of the walkers who obviously got lost – despite their protestations that they actually beat  the runners. Since Mummies Boy had joined the walkers, the suspicion is  that he created his own trail and took the walkers on a nostalgia filled  stroll down memory lane.

Klingon gave the run report and scored the run at 35 out of 45 – this being the number of days until the Balls Up (hope you all have your tickets!).

Special runs: Lotsa fun, GG and Mothball.

Next week’s run: Hare: GG. Venue: Fairbairn Rd. Park beside Toorak Primary School.
